Travel & Accommodation
There are usually direct flights from Edinburgh, London, Manchester and Leeds. It is usually a two to three hour flight. You will arrive in Riga International Airport and we recommend to download the Bolt app, and order a Taxi from there to your chosen accommodation in Riga. Buses outside the airport are available (Bus Number 22) which takes you directly into Riga Centre. Do not use the taxi drivers who meet you at the airport, they will charge an excessive amount.
On Saturday,26 September 2026, we will pick up all guests who confirmed that they need transport at 12:30 from Riga city centre and drive to the beautiful Bīriņu Pils. This is a 24 hour celebration – no midnight carriages as accommodation for one night in Bīriņu Pils, drinks, food and entertainment are provided. After celebrations, on Sunday the bus will bring everyone back to Riga where you can fly back to the UK if possible, or stay for another day or more to enjoy Riga/Latvia.
For your stay in Riga, there are numerous hotels and Air BNBs that can be used. Please see booking.com or Airbnb.co.uk to choose the most suitable accommodation for your taste and needs.
Please note that accommodation is already provided and paid for on the date of our wedding day which is 26th September 2026. Therefore, you do not need to book a room in Bīriņu Pils for this day.
